Morocco has banned the use of Skype and other VOIP services.
Effectively, this means that Skype and other VOIP services will either not perform or will perform badly with constant disconnects.
It is believed that the move has been brought in to protect the profits of the sole telecommunications company in Morocco - Maroc telecom - which owns the infrastructure.
But Morocco is not alone in their move.
Morocco joins a rather long list of countries who are known to block Skype and other VOIP services:
Belize, Brazil, Caribbean countries, China, Egypt, Iran, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, South Korea, North Korea, Oman, Pakistan, Paraguay, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, UAE, Vietnam and Yemen are all said to block services and / or block web content.
Why does Morocco Block Skype?
