Fly Morocco to Tunisia

Sunday, February 12, 2012

The chance to fly Morocco to Tunisia recently increased with Tunisair, the national airline of Tunisia increasing it's flight schedule.

Tunisair now flies daily from Casablanca to Tunis.

Additionally, they have added extra flights from Casablanca to Tunis on a Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

This brings the total amount of flights from Tunisair from and to Morocco to 10 flights per week.

All flights depart from Tunis, fly to Casablanca and then return to Tunis on the same day.

This could be a great opportunity to combine your Morocco adventures with a trip to Tunisia and even Libya, as Tunisair now also flies from Tunis to Benghazi Libya 4 times per week.

For those who wish to travel further,Tunisair also fly from Tunis to Istanbul daily.

The Casablanca Tea House at The Sultans Casablanca Palace Morocco

We recently received a question from a reader of the Morocco travel blog, who was kind enough to take the time to ask a great question to us and we are happy to try to help the reader with his question.

The reader tells us that he spend 17 months in Morocco during World War 2 and that he had some knowledge of The Tea house at Casablanca Sultans Palace.

The reader believes that the Tea house must have fallen into disrepair and tells us that the building was beautiful with lots of Blue and white Ceramic tiles and dark carved woodwork.

The reader also kindly provided some details of some photos which had been taken by an American serviceman who also served in Morocco during World War 2.

The reader also states that it is the place where the Moroccan sultan entertained President Roosevelt during the Casablanca Conference which took place in January 1943.

More of Sultan's palace

If anyone has any knowledge of whether this building is still in existance, or indeed, what happened to it, then
we would love to hear from you so that we can provide our enquirer with some more details. Of course....recent photos would be an absolute delight for all of us!

Visit to the Hassan II Mosque Casablanca Morocco

Monday, January 09, 2012

For tourists, Casablanca did not use to be a very inspiring city to visit in Morocco.

However, recently, Casablanca holds much more for your Morocco tour visit.

Amongst one of the original places to visit in Casablanca is the amazingly huge Hassan II Mosque.

The Hassan II Mosque is amongst the largest Mosques in the world.

Sitting prominently on the Moroccan Coastline of Casablanca, the Mosque is the tallest building in Casablanca.

Daily opportunities for visitors to view the Mosque are available.

Note that the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca is the only Mosque in Morocco which allows non muslim visitors.
